Pyrogen Technologies Australia develops a new Fire alarm
controller
adds another system to there line of alarm panels
New system
details
Description: This panel is for the
monitoring and controlling
of pyrogen fire extinguishing systems.
The system is built to fit in to
standard dashboards & instrument panels. The panel is designed to
monitor various sensors and activate outputs to control fire
extinguishers in
the event of a fire being detected. The system monitors the inputs both
to
detect actual alarm or fire situations, and to check for faults in the
system
itself. There is also a comprehensive test mode that can be used both
during
production, installation and servicing
of the system. The panel components
are based around a low-power microcontroller, which controls the
system. The
range of the panels covers all possible control and discharge
scenarios. The
panel has membrane switches (excluding isolation) that allow using
these panels
as splash proof.
Application: Marine (pleasure crafts, fishing
vessels and boats),
transport (buses, trucks, cars), mobile equipment, industrial,
domestic.
Fire suppressants: Any commercial fire
suppressant, such as Pyrogen,
can be used with the panel.
Specification:
Dimensions:
143mm high, 84mm wide, 31mm deep (flush-mounting 20mm). Enclosure
material: ABS
plastics. Operating voltage: 12-30VDC. Operating current: 53mA on 12V,
78mA on
24V. Power supply inputs: Main and backup. Number of fire
detector zones: 2 & 4. Acceptable detectors: All commercial
thermal,
photo-optical and ionization detectors, manual call points, and
temperature-sensitive detector wires. Max number of detectors per zone:
30.
Detector operating voltage: Same as power supply voltage. Outputs:
Siren, max
0.5A at 12 or 24VDC. Discharge: max 1A at 12VDC and 2A at 24VDC.
Mounting: Vertical or horizontal. Wiring
is from the back of the base. A flat
base is also available as an accessory for flush-mounting. It is made
of 1.5mm
steel, and powder-coated matt black reducing the total panel thickness
by 11mm.
Output: The siren
output can be used to operate audio-visual alarms such as strobe lights
and
sirens for the purpose of fire alert, as well as shutting down exhaust
fans and
closing ventilation holes to prepare for suppressant discharge.
Indications: The panel has
LED indicators for main and backup power, circuit 1 and 2 alarms,
fault,
isolated and discharge.
Fault sensing:
The panel has a comprehensive
fault monitoring
system. It monitors open-circuit of wiring to the detectors, the siren
and the
fire suppressant. It also monitors internal malfunctions. It
is able to detect faults in the LEDs on the panel.
Accessories: The following accessories are
supplied with the
panel: 2 x 4.7K ohm end-of-line resistors for the detector circuits, 1
x
1N4004
end-of-line diode for the siren, 1 x 1N5404 charger diode, 1 x
operator’s
manual.
Optional: The following
accessories are
available: flush-mounting flat base,
Pyrogen 1 or 4-way monitoring junction box, siren booster for high
current
output build with EOL, red breakglass for alarm, or yellow breakglass
for
discharge, wide range of detectors including fixed-temperature linear
heat,
probe and flame detectors, 12V 7AH or 24V battery, battery box.
